Andersson Trafficking Hopelessness

The war on drugs is an unwinnable war. The government will never be able to stop individuals desire for the effect of drugs. These individuals will go to any length imaginable to access these effects. The more money governments put into trying to stop drug cartels, the more money the cartels will spend on killing the enforcers and different smuggling tactics. Socially, I don’t think the war on drugs is winnable because for under privileged kids, drugs are the only way for them to feel important and make a great deal of money. Obviously, this path will not lead them anywhere other than death or prison. The prisons then become over crowded with kids who have just tried to make a future for themselves the only way they know how to. Individually, I think there are some instances where the war on drugs can stop a person from doing drugs but in most cases the people that are willing to try these hardcore drugs don’t care how they get them. These people will go to any lengths to get their fix. One scene that shows this addict desperation is when the Wakefield daughter has sex with her drug dealer for sex. This is a wealthy prep school girl going into a dangerous neighborhood to have sex with someone she doesn't know so that she can score heroin. The war on drugs is HOPELESS.

  1. You still need to learn to size your pictures properly. Try comparing the war on drugs today to prohibition in the U.S. in the twenties.
