Good, directed by Vicente Amorim and starring Viggo Mortenson, is a film set pre World War II. I believe the title, "Good", was not chosen because it shows the figure of a good man facing problems he was forced into. I think the title is more of a question or even slightly satirical. The movie forces us to ask the question what a "good" person would do in the situation the main character, John, and others in the movie face. Was there response the correct response a "good" person would make? Based on their responses are they "good" people? In the end, the answer can only be found by defining a "good" person. The movie places the characters in a bad and possibly forseeable situation. But it asks the audience (us) what the correct and "good" response would be, after we have seen the devastation of World War II. Can we really call these people good? At the same time, what we have done? We consider ourselves "good", and possibly and probably would have responded no differently. The situation forced the characters in the movie to seem like they weren't being good. I think the title is really trying to get us to ask a few questions. What are the qualities of "good" people, and can people be "good" when put into terrible situations? I don't think the creators wanted us to find an answer, but I believe this was more for thought provoking purposes. It can make us question the "goodness" of humanity and ourselves. In the end, I think this title was created to show that everyone is human, and that everyone is a mix of good and evil. The fact that everyone is a mix of good and evil can be unsettling - not only are we not completely good, but the "evil" people also aren't completely evil. Which is a reason I believe this was not distributed in the United States. We are trained to see all people we oppose as bad or evil - especially Hitler and his Nazi regime. The truth is that some people aren't actually as evil as seen. They are a mix, like everyone else. Very few can be classified as "good" or "bad", whether we like to see them in that light or not. Overall I think Good was thought provoking and interesting.

Use only your last name in the title, and use your full name in the label. Add other labels to your list. You have an excellent analysis of the problem of the title, but you do not answer the other questions posed by the blog. Read blog carefully and attend to all parts of the question.
